A Wish Granted

His wish was to become involved in film projects with meaning. He did not waiver from his goal. Throughout his hurdles he kept the big picture in mind. Who is he? He is no other than the mega talent Corey Grant! If you have not heard of him then you are still living in the dark ages because his name and work are recognized and respected by top A-listers in the film industry!

While growing up in Joliet, Illinois this powerhouse had a vision that kept him focused and lead to his move to Hollywood, where he now resides in Los Angeles County. Now after countless years in the cinema business and working with talent such as: Meghan the Duchess of Sussex, Meagan Good, Vivica A. Fox, Stacey Dash, Stacy Keibler, Amber Rose, Essence Atkins, Tatyana Ali, John Witherspoon, Wesley Jonathan, Terrell Owens and Keith Robinson, Corey Grant has learnt the art of synergy. 

To date Corey has earned 11 director credits, 8 writer credits, 8 editor credits and has had projects streaming on Netflix, BET and the Urban Movie Channel; accolades that have made his wishes come true! These projects included films such as: I Got the Hook Up 2 2019, Illicit 2017, Sister Code 2015, Dysfunctional Friends 2012, and BigFoot: The Lost Coast Tapes 2012 to name a few. As a Norfolk State University (BA in Communications) and Howard University (master’s in film) Alumnus he has earned his stripes and soars through the challenges in filmmaking. 

What inspires Grant is the need for substance from his ventures. He exhibits this in the New Breed Entertainment and Jamel Baines Production Angie’s cure, Starring Lanett Tachel, Essence Atkins, Sean Nelson, Denise Boutte, Mariah Robinson, Jennifer Freeman, Vanessa Estelle Williams, Michael Petrone, Christopher Torres Villalobos, Raquel Davies, Watts Homie Quan, Christopher Dukes, Apryl Jones, and others. The movie was written by Corey Grant, Brian Kelsey, Lanett Tachel and directed by Grant. Angie’s Cure explores the psyche of a rape victim and how she processes the violation, while subsequently seeking unorthodox measures for retribution. 

In his upcoming 2023 piece , Athena, featuring Lanett Tachel, Redaric Williams, Steven P. Nemphos, Anjianna Grasso, Andrew J Katers, Marvin Ryan, Aleta Soron we can see Corey’s style versatility. With a futuristic 2035 backdrop the audience is guided into a utopian America where equality and peace officers are the new norm. Things turn sour at a posh party when an A.I. named Athena joins the thrills and imposes survival games on the guest! So, sit tight for more details to come, because this flick is sure to send you on a colossal ride!

Grant continues to wow us as he strives toward his wish of staying true to his work, seeking depth and fulfillment in his projects, which will benefit himself, his staff and loyal audience!
